So many people give so much of themselves , their skills and considerable time to our community; always out of their passion for all that is Active Worlds, and we hope that this new tradition of recognition will show them how much their efforts mean to the community.

Fun Run '98 - September 19th - 8pm VRTGet ready for Fun Run 98! The start area is at AW 6n 2014e, and to participate you'll have to run as fast as you can all the way to GZ (map).
Along the route you must notice some signs - please read the rules:

    Rules:

  • Have Fun
  • Plz stay on the street, no cutting corners, try to stay within street borders
  • No teleporting what so ever
  • No flying over 1.5 meters if higher then 1.5 meters you may miss certain clues, or signs that are vital to the race.
  • Identify the words on the 10 signs with the YELLOW text and RED backgrounds. These signs will be placed randomly to discourage cheating.  The signs display city names, that will have to be told to a designated AWEC member when (you) finish the race. They will respond to you promplty with the results, and what to do next. To claim one of the three prizes, at the winners circle (aw gz) identify the awec member and inform them of the 10 city names via telegram, e-mail, or ICQ.
  • Hints and Tips:
    Take a pre run
Use the control key on your keyboard to move faster
Use the shift key on your keyboard to maneuver if you get stuck

    Prizes:
The first two people who finish the race will automatically win a free citizenship if they announce the correct 10 city names after entering into aw gz.  The other runners who enter the race and finish will also have a chance to win a citizenship.  If they complete the race within a hour and a half(1 1/2 hr) and repeat the secret city names to the designated awec member they will be entered into a drawing, and who evers name is picked will win a free citizenship.  This gives someone with a slower computer a chance to win a prize. You can find more details on the drawing here.

A'tuin Pirate Treasure Hunt

Ongoing

Hidden somewhere in A’tuin are twelve treasure chests, each belonging to one of the twelve infamous pirates listed on the Treasure Hunt web page. If you can find all twelve chests, tell the A'tuin WorldMates and you’ll have your name displayed on the list of successful treasure-hunters in A’tuin, become a public speaker for a day, and also win a pair of avatars for use in a world of your own! The Treasure Hunt is now a permanent feature of A’tuin, so don’t be disappointed if you can’t find all the treasure in one evening - you've got forever to find the chests! :) Some of the chests are relatively easy to find, while others are pretty tough. But with these cool prizes, why aren't you in A'tuin right now trying to find the treasure? :) For more information visit the Treasure Hunt web page.
