On behalf of Circle of Fire Studios, Inc. and the AW Community, we would like to announce the debut of the Cy Awards. The Cy Awards are our way of showing our community members the recognition they deserve for taking the extra step to enhance our virtual environment. The awards cover several categories including technical innovations, artistic endeavors, and social/cultural activities. 

We wish to recognize the contributions that are made, both personally and professionally, to improving and expanding upon the experience that is Active Worlds. So many people give so much of themselves , their skills and considerable time to our community; always out of 
their passion for all that is Active Worlds, and we hope that this new tradition of recognition will show them how much their efforts mean to the community. 

Our first series of awards draw from both recent and ancient histories in an effort to connect our past to our future, and to honor those who have built our foundations and inspired our present. We have chosen to include those in our community whose professions it is to create for and with our technology, because their contributions are so essential to the core of Active Worlds. [Note: you can see the winners of the awards in the discussion newsgroup - Dth.] 

We hope that you all will be able to join us Saturday the 2nd of May at 9:00PM VRT in The Transcend for the awards presentation and gala celebration.

May 3rd 

After the awards, Pollen will be hosting a post-awards party, for all to attend if they so wish, it will be the last time the current incarnation will be shown, as after the party, it will be wiped and restarted anew, with a whole new vision and outlook. Pollen has been an inspiration to me, i would like to thank all the people who ahve put their effort into it, and a special note of thanks to manty who guided the world from it's very first conception and offered much to it's beauty, and to the builders and people who were involved, I'd like to finally say that you built one of the most awe inspiring worlds i hasve seen, and am proud to of worked along side you all. 

The Death to Pollen party will be held after the Cy awards, on the 3rd of May (im not sure what time it will be , as i dont knwo when the awards will be held) . . i am also going to ask anyone with a webcam to give me the address so that we can have a live feel to the party as well. 

once again, thankyou to those involved, and also thankyou to the citizens who sent the many messages to us all tellin us how much they liked our world =)

Contest open to citizens only. We will have a Bar-b-que (haha) at a park built especially for the ocassion and a panal of judges will evaluate each building and chose a winner. The winner will win an award (specially made z object, trophy) to display in his or her virtual home.

May 16th, 1998 - 5:00pm 

The AWHS is hosting a party of the "Old Farts", Saturday, May 16, 1998, 5 PM VRT at the AWHS Museum: Alpha World Prime: 1501.4n 500e 1.05a 284 This will be a great opportunity for the us to reminisce with the citizens who were around in the "good ole days" !!!! Possibly to actually speak with the very citizens who built the structures pictured in the museum : ))

Midnight Madness is getting married in AW! The wedding will be held in the world "Winter", where she will marry Trinket, with Lucrezia Borgia presiding.

DreamWorlds presents Sea Land in Patagonia. There will be an opening sermony and after that there will be a party at Sea Lands "The SEA STADIUM". Be there and have fun!

The idea of this event is to get to know each other (real world). We have a party and display pictures of our citizens, that they have sent in. Along with the pictures where possible we will have there real name, age, and where they are from.

Hidden somewhere in A’tuin are twelve treasure chests, each belonging to one of the twelve infamous pirates listed on the Treasure Hunt web page. If you can find all twelve chests, tell the A'tuin WorldMates and you’ll have your name displayed on the list of successful treasure-hunters in A’tuin, become a public speaker for a day, and also win a pair of avatars for use in a world of your own! The Treasure Hunt is now a permanent feature of A’tuin, so don’t be disappointed if you can’t find all the treasure in one evening - you've got forever to find the chests! :) Some of the chests are relatively easy to find, while others are pretty tough. Every Friday at [7:30pm VRT], spanish ground zero, we have guided tours of mundo hispano by members of the special events team. We take tourists and citizens to visit some of the special interest areas of our world i.e our impressive library links of books that interest all ages. Our church, discos, skyscrapers, parks,beach ect. end it all with a list of special events.Then we have a questions and answers session.
